Terug van weggeweest: The Waterboys! Deze band uit Edinburgh, Schotland van zanger Mike Scott bestaat al sinds 1983 en scoorde in 1983 de eerste hit met A girl called Johnny. Latere hits waren The Whole Of The Moon (nummer 1 hit in 1985), Fisherman’s Blues, This is the sea & The pan within. Dit jaar komt de band met een nieuw album getiteld Life, Death And Dennis Hopper. Hopper’s on top is daarvan de eerste single.
